Whats a good motherboard for crossfire MSI Radeon RX 480's? Also if you think I should just get a GTX 1070 let me know. Thanks!

CPU: Intel i5-6600k
PSU: 850 watt super nova

Yeah, I don't see the 4 x 480. While AMD seems to have gotten the Poltergeists outta CF support w/ 2 cards ... more than that has always been a bit of an adventure. On top of that, multi card performance just hasn't been all that impressive for either side even w/ two cards. Can't really say why just yet ... have to wonder if nVidia is sitting on SLI tweaks at present as the impact of good SLI performance on the 1070 will only affect the sales of 1 card ... the much more profitable 1080.

Also, the MSI 480 Gaming draws 200 watts per card during gaming ... 850 watter isn't going to cut it. The 1080 Ti is gonna drop any day now and with what 4 x 480s will cost, I think the money will be better spent there. OTOH, with 4 x 480s, ya can turn off the heat in winter :)

What resolution ?

I'm just trying to crush 1920x1080 ultra games, and dabble in 2K when I get my 1440p monitor. I can pick up 2 RX 480 for under $450, pretty much the same price as a GTX 1070. And pretty much every game that supports crossfire the results are close to GTX 1080, sometimes better.
