My home wireless network is set up as follows: A Motorola SBG6580 from cable company being used as modem and router with WPA/WPA2 being used as security. DHCP server is enabled on this device and lease time is set to 86,400 seconds, there are 2 reserved static ip addresses for 2 network printers and the rest of devices are DHCP. The Motorola gives plenty of speed as my internet connection is 18 Mbps, but does not cover the range of the whole house. About halfway through the house there is a Belkin wireless range extender..this one: http://www.belkin.com/us/p/P-F9K1015/ and it is set with the same SSID and WPA/WPA2 security password as the Motorola. On the Motorola I have the mac address of this extender entered under the WDS menu. Most devices seem to work well but there a few devices, including an iPhone 6S, that take up to two hours to obtain an IP Address. The wifi password is entered and dhcp chosen for ip settings on the iPhone but it will show a spinner beside the wifi network without connecting for an extended amount of time. Usually if I go to the Motorola's dhcp page the iPhone will already have an IP Address assigned but will still be struggling to connect. Does anyone have any suggestions on speeding up the time it takes to obtain an IP Address?

Solution
Update: since changing DHCP lease time to 8 hours instead of 24, and adding the extender's IP Address to reserved ip table, this seems to have solved the problem, Will update if problem returns.
