Hello.
I just got a new gtx 1060 graphics card and was planning on installing it myself. Though I have never installed a graphics card before and was wondering what are the steps for taking out and uninstalling the old gpu and installing the new one. Thanks

It'd be easier to follow a youtube video.
But the basic steps are.
1.) power off and unplug your PC
2.) ground yourself by touching the metal outside of your case or another peice of metal (static can fry whatever is inside your case.
3.) Unplug the power cable from the old GPU
4.) unscrew the old GPU from the slot and unplug it by pressing down on a little latch on the right side of where it is plugged into on the motherboard.
5.) put the new GPU in making sure to press the GPU in until the latch you depressed to pull the old one out snaps back into place (you may have to push it back yourself)
6.) Screw the screw back into the slot to hold it in place.
7.) Plug the power back in, making sure you have all the right power cables in place, if necessary using more than one (hopefully you have enough/the right cables.
8.) power it on and test it.
9.) close up the case and have fun.

I would also have to download the drivers and install them too right?

Yes but that can all be done whenever.
Go to control panel and unistall the old drivers, in programs, (This should probably be done before installing the new card) and then install the new card, google latest drivers for that card, and should come to an Nvidia site and download the driver.
