After watching serveral videos and trying serveral times, i cannot seem to get my port to open. My firewall is off and ive tried restarting my router to see if it will pop up after a reboot with no luck. FYI this is for a Minecraft server. My steps included going to my router login, which is netgear, and making a port thats set to 192.168.1.125, which is the internal ip of my computer(with the port 25565).

Have you checked what the status of the windows firewall is set to in windows security settings Lmecod.

If set to high lower windows firewall to medium.
Then test the server again to see if it can bee seen and connected too.

If that fails, then try running the IP address of the hosting machine or server in putting the IP address of it in the DMZ of your router to check if the router is at fault or blocking the port.

Make sure that if you are setting a port up in port forwarding of the router that you put either a
TCP and a UDP entrie of the same port number you are using covering both protocols.

Or the protocol setting in the router for the port number in put is set to TCP/UDP setting if it allows both protocols to be selected.

Set the host to your internal IP. Note that DMZ will open up all ports on the Router, your PC will now handle ports. DMZ should be a last resort, and honestly shouldn't even be considered. There is something being over-looked somewhere. Be sure that any software firewalls are properly configured when fiddling with your DMZ.

Tried all of that. My router is a Netgear R6100 fyi. My port is set to TCP/UDP and i set the DMZ to 192.168.1.125, which is the ip of my computer. I turned the firewall OFF to eliminate that and i have no other programs that would regulate internet traffic. And yes Ive tried resetting my router after applying these settings again. I doubt that ive missed something. Ive tried this on multiple occasions and all efforts resulted in this same problem.
Another sidenote. IPCONFIG does not work in my CMD, so I went through my network settings and custom set my computers internal IP to 192.168.1.125

Does the WAN (Internet) IP address on the Netgear's router status page match the one you see at canyouseeme.org?
