Just some extra info. My battery went bad after about 4 years. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but my computer was overheating like crazy. The CPU was running at 1000% percent usage(literally it said this in the monitor).

I brought it to Apple, and they had no clue what could cause it, but they said "Hey, you're battery is bad, lets change that and see what happens?" We did it, and it fixed all of the other issues.

To make a long story short, battery issues can affect more than just powering on the computer.

i'm about to go over 1000 cycles, i've had my mac for 5 years and never had any sort of problems. i should look into getting it changed just in case

You scaring the guy. :D

With a worn battery, but any time really, YOU KNOW how warm your laptop gets, specially when it's idling it should not be stay warm. To that effect a worn/bad battery can heat up abnormally and start to swell, specially noticeable in a thin Air. This is a sure sign to CHANGE THE BATTERY NOW!

Op if you losing sleep over this, go ahead, get a new battery, otherwise monitor and save up for a new batt.
