I doubt anybody will even see this but did I buy a fake card? I started using this card a couple moths ago and haven't really used it for anything heavy but when I started to play some games like CS:GO I realized this card was under-performing (50 fps max settings). It also doesn't look like any GTX 750 ti I have seen anywhere. I bought it from china off eBay (some guy called JWell Parts) so I think I just answered my own question. It could be something else making it under perform, but I'm not sure. If its not the card it's supposed to be I would like to know what it actually is.

Anyways, (GPU-Z stats)

Release date is Feb 18, 2014
Bus Interface: 1.1 x16 @x16 1.1
ROPs/TMUs: 24/12
DX Support 12
192 shaders
Pixel Fillrate of 21.6 GPixels/s
Testure Fillrate of 10.8 GTexels/s
1024 MB of GDDR5 RAM
Bandwidth of 98.5 GB/s
GPU clock of 900 MHz
and finally claims to be a GTX 750 ti
(I'd post pictures but it wont take them directly from my pc... I guess the technology is too advanced for them, lol.)

If you bought it from ebay and its from China its most likely fake. I remember they had this GTX 680 for half the price (when it was new). Turned out it was a GTX 640 with a flashed bios to make it appear to be a 680. So if you scores don't match up what a 750 Ti is suppose to be than it's likely fake (coming from china).

Smells like a fake to me in fact just checking what it reports back as by using Cpu z / Gpuz
should be enough to clarify if it is a fake branded card.

In relation to the problem Some company`s over in china were buying up Gpu Bga chips that didn`t make the Grade or speed bin tests or the working amount of SP`s ect that Global foundries fab factory`s rejected.

Buying them up very cheaply indeed, then of course selling them on as fully working Gpu chips.
With as you say a altered bios firmware.

It looks like that is what you bought, the reject and malformed Gpu chips that Global foundries rejected after testing and speed binning on the working parts of the Gpu formed.

I also remember the 680 Nvidia Gpu scam of using reject Gpu`s from global foundries.
Your a few Shaders missing indeed.

In fact the only gpu chip with a 192 Sp`s was more like a GTX 400 series Nvidia card.

Correction a GTX 260 Graphics card with 192 Cuda cores.
Man I feel sorry for you !.

But as they say " If the price is too good to believe, it usually is !!!!!! "

A 750 Ti would have 640 shaders and 2048MB of GDDR5 RAM. You should contact Ebay for a refund, maybe start a dispute through PayPal. Ebay's money back guarantee should cover you.

*I think I found what you bought: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX750TI-1GB-DDR5-192Bit-PCI-Express-Video-Graphics-Card-/361688693931?hash=item5436537cab:g:y7kAAOSwawpXsuAg

It's going to be tricky to convince Ebay the item isn't as described. But the description clearly says:

Package Including:

1x GTX750TI Video Card

^which is simply not true. It's a GTX 550 Ti.

Hello... He is past his complaint time line after a couple months... You could take a live video of taking the heatsink off and looking at the GPU Chip information under it... for any slim chance of opening a complaint at this point in time... as a counterfeit product?

Maybe if everyone here could report the Ebay listing, something could get done. I just reported it. If there is a different listing which you purchased, please post it here so we can report it as well.

*OP should still file a complaint and try to get a refund with Ebay and PayPal.

I don't believe there are any Nvidia GPUs with a 192/24/12 core configuration. So it won't exactly compare to any authentic Nvidia GPU benchmark scores.

*It's most likely an altered/crippled 550 Ti.

Hello... Well until the heatsink is removed and the thermal paste cleaned off... will you see any physical clues or the writing on the GPU B / I'm not sure how GPU-z works or gathers it's information, it could be just reading some 1's and 0's that someone programed into the firmware. You could use GPU-Z and copy the firmware to your drive, and then open the file up with an APP, for more clues.

Removing electrical paths or having crippled/defect production parts is common in any manufacturing procedure and is also Done by the GPU makers themselves. That why I suggested a performance test run on the GPU... as a Blind method of data correlation to what group of GPU's it performs similar too B / me myself? I would look under the hood B )

I would remove the heatsink/thermal paste as well. I'm curious to see what it says.

All GPU-Z details given by OP points to it being this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX750TI-1GB-DDR5-192Bit-PCI-Express-Video-Graphics-Card-/361688693931?hash=item5436537cab:g:y7kAAOSwawpXsuAg&rmvSB=true

Which the listing actually says: "-GPU is GTX550Ti Chip Upgrade"

.... "Calorific value" <-... lulz

Hello... Ya it's like they are very open about their product and listed specs... this might be why he has no complaint stance... because all the information was listed... remember "Buyer Beware" read all the fine print etc... Well most people will read into something what they want. Product names and variations there of... are designed to entice you and your money to them... Marketing ( and they give Degrees/PHD's and Doctrines in this ). The Buyer received a working Video card no mater what WE want to call it or THEY want to call it.

If you bought a new/used Corvette with a 6 cylinder Nissan engine in it, does that make it a Counterfeit Corvette? it's still is a "Corvette" and Chevy on the registration... Or is it a Chevy Corvette with a 6 cylinder upgrade/Mod?

So the card is called a GTX 750TI with a GTX550ti upgrade... LOL the question I have is Does NVidia own the right to the letters/numbers "GTX 750TI" ? as anybody could call/number their product what ever they like... "G T X 750 TI" a small change like this? bring on the Trademark Lawyer's.

It could be very possible that NVidia sold these chips to them or someone... then someone else after that... as Nvidia does with other companies... Business as usual? Does that make it a counterfeit product? B / making a Circuit Board, semiconductor or GPU requires a lot of specialize equipment and materials... Not typically found in one's garage or basement... it could have been made in the same building that makes the ones we buy. B /

I have examined and tested various counterfeit products... it was going on in the 80's with the Circuit Breaker Brand/Company I worked for... The outside of the circuit breaker was a exact copy of our products... BUT when you looked inside there was steel parts where there were suppose to be copper parts B O... The UL labels were exact copies too. We as a company had to investigate and try some new means to counter this and also inform electrical supply companies and distributors of what we have found and seen... so they can do a supply search to weed them out.

If there was fire damage and deaths... Our company would be the first one to get a Law suit. B / They got into the Supply Chain through greed, deception and ignorance. Yes... EBAY, Amazon, ? could be used as one of these avenues too. International Online sales swings this Door wide open... Now the Post Office/Shippers are bringing this stuff in too. B O

The problem with these things is that people here in the US get enticed to save some $$$$ and buy these things... until people stop tring to take a short cut with their $$$ then we can stop it. B / How many people here are always looking for a short-cut or "Cheap" copy of Windows B D

Hello... 67 sold and only 6 left... why would EBAY stop this? ...but I don't see the 750TI reference listed?

They did a great job on the fan stickers and CD graphics, but maybe those were easily available to them... they are using just 2-wire Fans.

One thing I look for is the FCC id, printed on the back of the card... needed for US sales and company information, and I don't see one. B / another LOOP hole in the online international products and sales route? This is one of the reasons the current and future Trade Laws are a important Political issue.

:( do tell if you get your money back, I've got the same product on the way. Was starting to get suspicious when a friend said it looked nothing like his. I guess too good to be true really is too good to be true.

If you just ordered it you should be able to refund it with Ebay's Money Back Guaruntee as long as it's within 30 days.

Yep, its not "fake" but worded just right lol. It's not a GTX 750 Ti what we all know is the main thing.

If it says GTX 750 Ti in the subject line and says it includes a 750 Ti in the description, and it's not a 750 Ti, I'd say they're selling a fake 750 Ti.
