Gigabyte Z97 UD5H not recoginzing m.2 ssd as bootable drive

Recently I purchased the Intel 600p m.2 ssd 250GB, I wanted to use it as my system and programs drive but my motherboard(stated in the title) did not detect it as a bootable drive(did not show the m.2 in BIOS). What should I do?

Thank you, I updated my BIOS and now the m.2 drive appeared in the BIOS.
