Hi,

I recently put together a pc with the help of a friend. I have Windows 7 and a MSI Z170A mother board. I made the mistake of activating ultra fast boot in BIOS so now when I restart and try to access the Bios by hitting the DEL key the system boots before my USB keyboard turns on.

I've tried everything from lengthening my boot time to trying to access bios from the command prompt. I've scoured the internet for answers but haven't had anyluck.

Any help would be appreciated.

if you boot in to desktop see if you can disable fast boot if you installed it should have a way to turn it on or off ??

Entering BIOS Setup Please refer the following methods to enter BIOS setup. ● Press Delete key, when the Press DEL key to enter Setup Menu, F11 to enter Boot Menu message appears on the screen during the boot process. Use MSI FAST BOOT application. Click on GO2BIOS button and choose OK. The ● system will reboot and enter BIOS setup directly

Enable the GO2BIOS item (SETTING > Boot > GO2BIOS) in BIOS setup ● Advanced mode (F7). It allows the system to enter BIOS setup directly by pressing the power button for 4 seconds upon bootup. Function key Key F1 General Help F4 Enter CPU Specifications menu F6 Load optimized defaults F9 Save Overclocking Profile * When you press F10, a confirmation window appears and it provides the modification information. Select between Yes or No to confirm your choice. Click on GO2BIOS Function Key Function F3 Enter Favorites menu F5 Enter Memory-Z menu F8 Load Overclocking Profile F10 Save Change and Reset* 39 BIOS Setup

How about just resetting the BIOS by removing the battery or with the jumper? From your description, it seems 'Ultra Fast Boot' is not enabled by default. Resetting the BIOS will restore it to normal boot mode.
