Win7 Clean Install Failure Missing Drivers (exhaustively researched first)

Core notes:

What I have tried:

  • -Not using USB3 ports and/or USB3 capable drive
-Switching drive to different port after error message
-Using a USB3 drive with USB3 drivers slipstreamed into install.wmi
-Enabling/Disabling legacy USB mode in BIOS
-Disabling "Windows 7 Installation" under "Windows OS Configuration" in BIOS (full disclosure, I have no idea what this option does, and have never seen this in any other BIOS)
-Attempting to switch SATA mode from AHCI to IDE (this BIOS presents the option to change, but AHCI is the only option presented in the list)
-Switching off Legacy boot support in favor of UEFI only(doesn't detect USB sticks at all, goes to BIOS)
    -Invoking Cthulhu

Unless otherwise specified, for the attempts outlined above (in isolation and various combinations), it fails by getting to the initial install setup and then giving the by now infamous "CD/DVD drive device driver is missing".

Various other notes:

  • -Hitting "Browse" when asked to select drivers to install does not show the USB drive, or even a tertiary USB drive plugged into a different USB2 port
-All components are brand new except for the USB drives, and they have been formatted first
-I have used this same ISO to generate multiple install drives successfully, and using Microsoft's official "Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool"
-I have run into this issue before when attempting to use a USB3 port, and fixed it by simply switching to a USB2 port

I'm hoping someone here can see something I'm missing, because I've spent ~8 solid hours trying to install windows at this point.

Hello... Win7 needs a pre-install driver for AHCI mode... and none are listed, like MB's drivers of Old... there seems to be a utility listed there tho, that states compatibility install for the MB intel chipset... and a video to help... it is listed for win7 32&64 bit OS... it look like a ISO to USB stick procedure that also adds other files and directory to it, called Win7 smart tool.

I'm not entirely sure what the issue was here, but their utility worked! Thanks a ton for catching this.

Hello... GJ... after 8 hours of frustration then relief... B D
You can see in the Video, the first pop-up box message, that it is installing on the Bootable USB, a driver for that model of intel chipset/AHCI communications... maybe a USB driver too? I just did a glance over for a solution to your problem. B )

Typically using IDE mode you can by-pass using a driver and enable AHCI later in the Win7 OS... but some MB's won't let you do it B /
