Core notes:
What I have tried:
Unless otherwise specified, for the attempts outlined above (in isolation and various combinations), it fails by getting to the initial install setup and then giving the by now infamous "CD/DVD drive device driver is missing".
Various other notes:
I'm hoping someone here can see something I'm missing, because I've spent ~8 solid hours trying to install windows at this point.
-This is a brand new build
-Parts list here
-Installing via USB
What I have tried:
-Not using USB3 ports and/or USB3 capable drive
-Switching drive to different port after error message
-Using a USB3 drive with USB3 drivers slipstreamed into install.wmi
-Enabling/Disabling legacy USB mode in BIOS
-Disabling "Windows 7 Installation" under "Windows OS Configuration" in BIOS (full disclosure, I have no idea what this option does, and have never seen this in any other BIOS)
-Attempting to switch SATA mode from AHCI to IDE (this BIOS presents the option to change, but AHCI is the only option presented in the list)
-Switching off Legacy boot support in favor of UEFI only(doesn't detect USB sticks at all, goes to BIOS)
-Invoking Cthulhu
Unless otherwise specified, for the attempts outlined above (in isolation and various combinations), it fails by getting to the initial install setup and then giving the by now infamous "CD/DVD drive device driver is missing".
Various other notes:
-Hitting "Browse" when asked to select drivers to install does not show the USB drive, or even a tertiary USB drive plugged into a different USB2 port
-All components are brand new except for the USB drives, and they have been formatted first
-I have used this same ISO to generate multiple install drives successfully, and using Microsoft's official "Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool"
-I have run into this issue before when attempting to use a USB3 port, and fixed it by simply switching to a USB2 port
