Will the ASUS GTX 1070 fit in a CM 690III?

Dear reader,

The size of the ASUS GTX 1070 described as on their site is 29.8 x 13.4 x 4 centimeters.

I have a CM 690III Window Green case, on which the site says
VGA cardlength
423 mm / 16.6 inch (without cage)
312mm / 12.3 inch (with SSD cage)
280mm / 11.0 inch (with HDD cage)

I have 1 SSD and 1 HDD currently in my PC, so would it fit?

( My motherboard is an MSI Z97 G45 if it matters.)

Thanks in advance.

Well as long as it is out of the way of the PCIe Lane you're going to use, then yeah it will most likely fit.

You can do a basic measurement by getting a 30cm rule and just putting it in line, and if that fits then you'll be good, take note of the depth and width too, and ensure there's room for that.

Note that there also may be sagging of the GPU if it is really heavy, I get that with my 970, need to create something to hold it up.

Well, if your HDD is installed in the cage then it would not fit, as 29.8CM is 298mm,

Unless you can somehow remove the HDD cage and secure the HDD elsewhere then you will not be able to fit it, or that is the logic that is said there.

The way you read this is that the GTX 1070 is 298mm long, your case without the SSD and HDD cage allows 423mm VGA cards (GPUs), With the SSD Cage it allows 312mm, and with the HDD cage and SSD cage it allows 280mm I believe.

It goes slightly futher.

"Supports up to 10 SSDs (4 in the removable HDD/SSD combo cage, 1 behind the M/B tray) and 7 HDDs with HDD/SSD combo trays"

One of the cages apparently is removable.

They're all removable I think.

Check in your case, where the first PCIe lane is, and go straight across from it, the cage in the way, if removed will allow the GPU to fit, or if there's nothing there then you're good :p

So if I just remove the HDD/SSD cage which is in line with the GPU it will fit?

As it seems that if my HDD happened to be in line I could just move it to one of the other cages.
