FPS limiting on 1080

Hello,

I currently just got a Geforce 1080 GTX EVGA. I have a CPU that is i7-4771 3.5Ghz. 8gb of ddr 3 ram and 750W corsair PSU. I currently seem to not be getting the fps i desired ~70FPS in most games. What is wrong here ? DO i need more RAM ? is my CPU not able to run this GPU? Settings are wrong? Im not sure but its driving me crazy. Please help me figure out a solution so i can use my GPU to higher potential. Games i play are overwatch and Rust.

Check to see what your CPU and GPU utilization are. If you're at 100% GPU utilization, you need to drop graphical settings a hair because your GPU is the limiting factor. If your GPU utilization is lower (let's say <85%) then most likely your CPU is the limiting factor. Unfortunately there's very little you can do if this is the case. There isn't much in the way of faster chips out there, even a Skylake 6700K is only a few percent faster at stock.
