Hello! a few days ago i finished my build and im trying to get a safe Overclock on both my cpu and gpu..

My rig is:

i7 6700k 4.5ghz
Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 3
16GB DDR4 3200MHZ Avexir Blitz Red Led
MSI 1070 Gaming X (+170 core +525 memory)
Seasonic M12II EVO 750W

First of i OCed my cpu with the "CPU FRECUENCY" option in my mobo which auto adjust itself to overclock by % i got it to 4.6 stable but decided to stay in 4.5 just to be safe.

Then i tried to OC my GPU using MSI Afterburner, if i use Furmark to test it i can get it to:

Core Voltaje 100%
Power Limit: 126%
Temps: 92 C
Core Clock +130
Memory Clock: +635

For a +40 min and looks stable, but when gaming (RUST Battle Royale) the game would freeze after 15 minutes.

I then tried redoing the OC using Valley Benchmark and MSI Afterburner and i got to +170 core +525 memory for another +30 minutes test and everything was great.. decided to test furmark again, and every time i try to start the test, everything freezes, my gpu rgb turns off and i need to restard my rig... wtf?

Just tested Furmark using +170 core +0 memory and works fine for 15 minutes (then i stopped it)
Now im testing Furmark with +0 core +500 memory and works fine for 15 minutes (stopped it)

But if i try them together it insta freezes :S

Solution
Because not everything stresses a GPU in the same way, ditto with a CPU, I could be Prime 95 stable for hours on end, but not stable on battlefield 3 for more than 30mins.

Yeah, everything was smooth, run a furmark test of +1h, temps never went higher than 70 with stock fan curve, then i did a custom curve and even before and after these OCs never went higher than 63c
