Hello, I currently have a PC that I built in July 2015 and have experienced some frame rate drops in games such as CS:GO and what not and have a very strong suspicion that the problem is my RAM as I am only using 4 GB, Link to current RAM: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Crucial-PC1600-CL11-Memory-Module/dp/B00BJHA8GO/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1480883593&sr=1-1&keywords=crucial+4GB+PC1600+CL11 , and therefore I'm going to upgrade. I was just wondering would it be beneficial to upgrade to 8GB of RAM using the HyperX Fury 4GB 1866MHz CL10 RAM mixing and matching the two sticks and then buying another stick of the HyperX RAM and using both the HyperX sticks to get to 8GB?
(Also would the HyperX be compatable with my Biostar TA970 motherboard)
A further question is that if I do get the two hyperX sticks eventually would I then also be able to get to 12GB of RAM by again mixing and matching the sticks?
Answers are much appreciated in advanced.

Solution
usually ram upgrades are useful when you are near or have topped out your existing ram.
say u have 4gb. if it shows more than 3gbs being used at any given time then yeah id say ram would be helpful.
as for ram matching... dont take my word for it but u can use diff brands and timing but ur gonna end up losing more time configuring it to work and thats if it works..
save ur self headache and buy either the same exact ram u have or buy a new kit and sell ur old
id recommend 16gb as minimum
before u buy, check the list on the mobo or the ram to see if they are compatible
