I am looking to upgrade my whole setup as I have had this Pc since 09. Not sure about upgrading one part or to just buy a whole new desktop. It was a pc bought in-store a Hp-Pavilion.

Specs:
- Motherboard: Foxconn 2AB1
- CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 820 @ 2.8 GHz
-GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4200
-Ram: ddr3 single 4gb
-HDD: 750gb Barracuda 7200.12 (7200rpm)
-Power Supply: Bestec - 300 Watt - ATX-250-12Z Rev D7R
-Display: 1600x900

I am just looking to play some of the newer game that my current desktop has trouble playing I have used the site (systemrequirementslab.com/).

Showing that I have a really bad GPU (5th percentile) but my CPU is not the worst compared to the rest of the pc (57th percentile). If anyone has any thoughts on what I would need to look at upgrading first or just leaving the pc as a whole and buying another one and just using it as a back up. Thanks for looking and helping.

Hard to say without a budget, but here is probably the very least I would recommend for your system:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Memory: G.Skill 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1333 Memory ($47.88 @ Newegg Marketplace)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GT 730 1GB Video Card ($52.88 @ OutletPC)
Total: $100.76
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Unless you know the exact model number of the RAM module installed (and even then, it may not work), I'd recommend just replacing the RAM you currently have with an 8GB (2x4GB) kit.

While some people will say the GTX750Ti will run just fine on a 300 watt power supply, I don't trust the PSUs from prebuilt systems. Without replacing the PSU, this is the only discrete graphics card I would recommend.

If you're willing to spend significantly more, then I'd probably recommend a complete system overhaul.

Edit: The RAM recommendation is only if you are running a 64-Bit Operating System.
