What CPU should I go with for photoshop?

The CPU I want to use in my build is the i5 6500. As you could already guess by the title I'll be doing photoshop work. I just want to know if this CPU is enough to handle heavy work like 3D and everything else smoothly, or if I need an i7. Btw, my GPU is going to be a 470 and my RAM will be 16 gigs of DDR4.

Thank You

Depends on your program if it can use GPU acceleration. Then again on the program as to what video card to buy. In general you would at the least buy a i5 processor.
I use a i7 4790K overclocked with a GTX 980 32GB of memory and use a SSD for a scratch drive. Never seen over the low 20's of memory used but it depends on the size of the file.
Everything comes down to your budget and the performance your looking for along with the programs used.

It really depends on if your making money from it or just for yourself.
Making money then time is money if not then it doesn't matter if it takes 10 minutes to render of 14 minutes.
A simple i3 6100 would work or for a higher end something like a i7 6800K 6 core or anything in between.

Does the CPU or GPU help more with 3D rendering?

How significant would the performance difference be using the i5 6500 vs a 6th gen i7?
