About to install a new ssd, question about cables

So it turns out I'm gonna have to do some cable rearranging to get the SATA connector to fit in the dock. But if I switch the order of the connectors from the other 2 drives I have, will it change the destination the PC reads them at (C and E) and screw things up?

if you keep cable 1 to ssd for the os it will be read as c drive the other will have the folowing letter in the set like e to z .

The bios will sort this out. If you only have one OS on a drive, it should find it. If you are installing a new OS rom USB, make sure you install it to the new SSD

just check back in your bios in boot priorities and you should see it, and if it changed you can just switch there

Drive letter is independent of SATA channel. Really only matters during initial OS setup and for RAID setups.

Alright thanks. Another question. I'm about to partition the SSD, a 250 gb samsung (which the PC reads 236 right now). How much should I partition?
