Good evening,
This is my first post in here, so, I want to thank anyone involved in this site, whether it's a moderator or someone helping a person in need. I've been reading posts in this site since 2012, and I have to say that you really helped me improve my skills and knowledge as far as computer technology is concerned.
Back in the topic, what I want to ask is pretty simple and complicated at the same time; I've recently purchased an Nvidia 1060 3gb, to replace my old nvidia 9800gtx+. The performance of the card though didn't match my expectations created by benchmark videos using a similar system to mine. The gpu can't even reach the 60fps mark on far cry 4 while using the recommended settings (high). Actually, I'm stuck somewhere close to 40fps. The only way to reach the 60 fps mark is by dropping down to the lowest settings available. This becomes worse if you take into consideration that I am using a 1440x900 monitor. What could be the problem?
Specs.
Windows 7 sp1 x64
Windows and Far Cry HDD: WD 160GB (2008 model, I can't find more specs about it.)
Other HDD: WD 1TB Caviar blue @5400rpm
Cpu: AMD - FX 8320 no overclock
CPU cooler: Corsair h60
GPU: 1060 3gb palit dual fan
PSU: Corsair vs650
MOBA: Gigabyte 970a-ud3p rev2
RAM: Hyper X fury red ddr3 8gb @1866 mhz
Case: Corsair 300r
Monitor: ASUS 1440x900 VGA.
Also, I have to mention that I am using a vga to hdmi adapter, but when I tested the card on an hdtv, everything looked exactly the same.
What could be the problem? My windows power plan is set on high performance.
Thank you for your time,
Sincerely Yours,
Tom
