Hi again guys,

I will be recieving my ASUS GTX 1060 Strix OC today. I am at work right now and waiting to get off so i can go home and install this brand new GPU. BUT, I have never owned an Nvidia GPU.

Where should I get my driver for the ASUS GTX 1060 Strix OC?:??: Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks !

Solution
A GFX card installation won't require a BIOS update. Only drivers for items On your motherboard.

You would not have to tell it "where it is", tho the BIOS is used to turn off the IGP if you no longer want that now that you have a discrete card.

There is no issue with mixing brand names ... wll at least until you call tech support. The TS folks can oft be a bit lazy and the "auto-response" if you call about 1 part is to blame another.
1. They come in the box.

2. Drivers can be found using the link below:
https://search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?p=nvidia+drivers&ei=UTF-8&hspart=mozilla&hsimp=yhs-001

direct link
http://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx

3. After installing what "came on the CD in the box" or downloaded, you can use GeForce Experience to keep drivers updated.

4. If you have Windows 10, make sure you have turned off it's ability to install hardware drivers. WU killed all nVidia SLI installations a few days after initial release and has a continuing propensity for such behavior.

thanks , Hopefully it will work on a brand new o=motherboard that hasent had a BIOS update yet! My bios work fantastic without the bios update, SO i see no need to update the BIOS. it was released back in July ( asus z170a)

yea geforce website you can get drivers for your card downloading geforce experiance i choose custom install using express is an option to. doe when more updates for your cards come out use the custom install and make sure to tick the box perform a clean install as when not ticked it can leave older drivers in C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\Downloader if you have backed up the latest driver from <<< or got the file on nivada website then you can delete all file in that folder as this can save space and also if the latest driver does not work for whatever reason then you can roll back changes with the file in that folder or the website

Hey guys, I installed my Asus GTX 1060 last night. Everything installed very nicely with NO tweaking on my parts. I didn't have to update my BIOS. My card was recognized immediately when powered up. I manually downloaded the proper driver and installed it without any hiccups. I didn't have to tell the computer to look in the PCI slot for a GPU. After all, I have the ASUS z170a mobo and ASUS gtx 1060, they came out at about the same time and they are current gen.
Thanks for all of your help guys!

I did my graphics card install the other day. EVerything went as planned, no hiccups what soever. I accidentally plugged my monitor into tmy motherboard when i should have put it in my gpu, which provided a short-lived scare( stupid me...) I simply plugged it int other PCI lane, booted up my PC and installed the correct Nvidia drivers (which I searched for manually). Thanks for all your support throughout my first gaming build. Everything has gone very smoothly so far. My i5 6600K idles at 20-28c , sometimes one of the cores dips down to 19c. under load it hasn't gone over about 50c, but i haven't really done any testing. and it is a brand new computer so it's expected to have great temperatures. Thanks guys

Ive hear furmark can damage your card, its unrealistic fro the things ill be doing i think. thanks for the links , i appreciate it. I downloaded HW before i had my card , i love that program. Is there anyway to have HW monitor overlay temps on your game?
