For gaming and video editing you'll want quad core, not dual core with hyperthreading. Quad core with hyperthreading is nice for video editing but doesn't really help in games, so I'd spend money on other things first before buying a quad core w/ht. You'll want an SSD for your OS and programs, and a hard drive for data and workspace. Get a good power supply, don't go cheap on it. I'd suggest 8gb of system ram and, depending on how many memory slots the motherboard you choose has, either two sticks of 4gb or one 8gb stick. You want to leave room to add more later if needed. For 1080p, a 1060 or 480 should do it.
