Hi guys,

I have a weird issue, I THINK it began after installing my mobo to the latest bios, but I have build my entire setup into a new case yesterday, so that could also be a thing..

My specs:

MSI X99a GODLIKE mobo (latest bios 1.80)
i7 5820K (4.2 Ghz on 1.20v)
32GB RAM DDR4-2133 stock
MSI GTX 1070
Corsair H100i GTX cooler

What happens : When i boot my PC, my CPU temps are very high, 70/80 degrees celsius. When I acces Corsair Link for my H100i cooler, and I set the cooler to "performance-mode" everything is fine, and the temps go directly to 30-ish degrees... AFTER is set it to performance, to quiet mode, it stays at 33/34 degrees....What is also good....

When I reboot the PC, cooler still in quiet mode, it stays fine. When I shut down and startup again, cooler still in quiet mode, the temperature issues happens again? Anyone have any idea what this could be?

I think it is so weird...

So if I understand you right, it is only during boot and then it cools off? Make sure that your BIOS has the CPU fan header that powers your H100i set to 100% all the time. That makes sure that the pump on the waterblock keeps running and isn't treated like a fan. You can see this visually if the light on your CPU waterblock is flashing. This means that the water pump isn't getting enough power to keep the pump going as it is designed.

Ok I will try that!

Well... It is during boot, but stays warm, until I set the QUIET mode to PERFORMANCE mode.. almost as the H100i 'has to wake up' if you know what I mean...Because if I switch back from PERF to QUIET mode, it is oke.. But I don't want to do that trick every time I boot haha...

I have it now non stop on PERFORMANCE mode, that way it cools great, but it is strange, because I used to only use QUIET mode.. ?
