Hello everyone, I am looking to upgrade my current build which is about ~10 years old at this point. I had someone I knew to help me build the computer I have currently and was wondering what I should prioritize when looking to upgrade my current build. I'm looking at eventually doing a complete overhaul one day, but would like to keep whatever I can at the moment. I'm thinking my GPU is the main thing I should be looking to upgrade (maybe some more storage like a SSD), but any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated.

My current build:
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz (haven't overclocked it yet, was wondering if someone could help me with that as well)
Motherboard: EVGA 141-BL-E757-TR LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX X58 SLI LE Intel Motherboard
RAM/Memory: 6.00GB Triple-Channel DDR3 @ 530MHz
Storage: 596GB Western Digital WDC WD6401AALS-00L3B2 ATA Device (SATA)
GPU: 896MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275 (EVGA) 896MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275 (EVGA) (SLI disabled)
Case: Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Power Supply: Corsair CXM 750W 80+ Bronze Power Supply

Looking at a budget of ~$250 CAD currently. I'm a little lost on what is parts are compatible with what so that's why I'm asking for some help. I'm also not the most "computer linguistic" person, so keeping things simple would be appreciated.

Cheers to whoever helps me out.

From what I can find, your CPU should actually be fine. Most of your budget will probably come from a new GPU (which you'll definitely need). I'll recommend a Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB. You could also benefit from some extra RAM, I'd say try to go between 8-12GB. And a new HDD, try to get 1TB if you can. Those are my suggestions I'd wait to see if anyone else answers and whether or not they agree/disagree with me.

I will suggest using this site for picking parts (when some are recommended) pcpartpicker.com. I will say your PSU should be good at 750W, and some people may need some info about what you plan on using your PC for

Thanks for the reply, but wow haha, I totally forgot to put what I wanted to use my PC for. Anyways, I was planning on upgrading my current build so it could handle modern games that have come out recently. Games such as Overwatch, Battlefield 1 etc. I'm planning on playing around 1080p if that information is needed.
