I recently downloaded Geforce Experience and updated my drivers only to get weird frame drops in my games. I looked this issue up and it seemed I needed to install DDU onto my computer and uninstall all nvidia drivers, then reinstall the newest one only. I ran DDU and uninstalled my drivers, yet I did not do this in safe mode. My friend told me he used DDU a while back without going into safe mode and everything was fine, so i risked it. The computer successfully restarted after running DDU, except of course the resolution was bad. I looked up the latest driver on nvidia's site for my GTX 980, and started the download. At this time, it was late, and the download was taking a bit so I left it be and went to bed, and the computer went into sleep mode. The next day, I go to wake up the computer and install the driver, only to have my computer not wake up at all. I then turned it off holding the power button and when I turn it on, it brings me to my launch screen saying "MSI military grade" (Because I have an MSI motherboard). after this boot screen, my screen goes to these dots spinning forever in a loading screen. This happens every time I try to boot it. I can open BIOS and I can open a boot menu with F11. Please help me, I don't know what to do.

Edit: Sorry if I posted this thread in the incorrect spot, didn't know what this related to the most on the site.

''I recently downloaded Geforce Experience and updated my drivers ''

most don't ever install or use it

http://forums.evga.com/What-do-you-think-of-Geforce-Experience-m2153170.aspx

now you got to wonder if that 3ed party program did more then remove the NVidia driver or did it also remove the windows default driver as well [that's what its looking like cause it now cant find any driver fail safe or anything to load ] and now what ??

heres where you get NVidia drivers

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

now one guy cane here with this and I was able to use a AMD card to get to desktop then was able to do a backup repair luckily it did not remove what windows had for AMD

in 16 years of swapping cads that I can change from NVidia to amd and back sometimes 2 or 3 times a day I never had to resort to any crazy 3ed party gimmickware to uninstall a driver

and now you see where that got you ..

NVidia has release notes for every driver may want to review them like how device manager is not supported and all

I'd like to boot in safe mode, but the article really only shows how to boot into safemode if you can already access your machine, but I can't.

I looked for a while to try to find whether DDU uninstalls any windows drivers at all, and I am not finding anything. If you are wondering what the program actually is, here's where you can find it: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

I don't have any extra cards to switch out let alone ant AMD ones, so I'm kind of SOL in the regard, and currently don't have the money to buy card.

What do you suppose i do?

You can use the Windows Install Media (CD/DVD/USB) to repair your windows install.

Alternatively you may have to reinstall windows.

The 4th option describes how to get into safemode without windows working, but it requires you to disable any quickbooting you have setup in the BIOS.

Thank you all for your help, but I am going to take my computer in to one of my professors and he is going to assist me, but I am not sure if I should keep this forum up or not for anyone who encounters this sort of issue..

A word of advice for anyone thinking about using DDU, be cautious, and try not to use it if you can find another way to fix your issue.
