cpu is delidded

75c is pushing it temperature wise, but it would be safe, that is a very nice overclock at that voltage, you have some luck on your side :p

You can tend to keep your temperatures under 80c at maximum, most people tend to aim for 70c at maximum. Anything above 80 for long periods of time may slowly cause damage to your CPU, not 100% true in all cases but it can, 90c+ will most likely cause damage, but you wont reach that.

What about the voltage? won't 1.356v damage my chip?

How much voltage did you need for 4.7?

No it wont, it wont start damaging your chip until you reach too high of a temperature or go higher over around 1.45V

1.4V is safe(ish) but REALLY starting to push it.

Got anything to support what you're saying? Seen alot of people saying above 1.3v it will start to get way lower life span and stuff :S

4.7gz
1.37813v core voltage
1.2 cache voltage
2.05v input voltage
37x cache ratio
1.2 system agent voltage
ROCK SOLID tested for hours and hours of gameplay , prime95, aid64 .

4.8ghz
1.40312v core voltage
1.2 cache voltage
2.05 input voltage
1.2 system agent voltage
37x cache ratio
ROCK SOLID tested for hours and hours of gameplay , prime95, aid64 .

temps never get past 75c on any of my overclocks except when running prime95 for 4.8 overclock but with aida things stay below 75c

It will start lowering it slowly around 1.4V, but its nothing to worry about, it'll become obsolete before it 'Dies'

If you're not comfortable with doing it then don't do it, is the simple answer.

There's many threads out there that you can simply search, many people recommend to stay under 1.4V at maximum, and Intel recommends 1.55V at the absolute maximum, so 1.356 is completely safe.

Managed to get 1.332v for 4.8ghz stable for 2 hours ish atm
also tried 1.308v and 1.320v but after an hour or so they failed in prime95
I can also get 5.0ghz @ 1.45v but that is just for fast benchmarks

seems as though you hit the silicon lottery!!!

I cant get a STABLE overclock over 4.8. 4.8 is the limit for my chip. I can throw all the volts I want at it and it will eventually crash at 4.9 . it will boot , and even run awhile, buy BSOD is coming within a hour or so...
I tend to like ROCK SOLID overclocks and low temps.... 4.7 is cool and stable , for me awyways. I can use 4.8, but its kinda warm during stability testing , works for gaming tho....
