not so long ago my pc got infected by a virus (i think), which couses the pc not to post, randomly your pc finaly boots and it does a bios restore, at least it did that on my ga-990xa-ud3 mobo, this was not the first time i had the problem of my pc turning off after 2 sec whitout posting, back then i wasent sure if the problem was hardware or something else, im still not sure but i think it is a virus, so this time when it didnt turn on, i decided to take the pc apart and try to find the couse, in this process im 99% sure i killed my mobo, what happend was:

i only had the basics connected, PSU, MOBO, RAM, CPU, i did that on table and it finally booted, then i added GPU and put the MOBO insade the case, becouse it had to be lifted so i could add the GPU to it, but i did not position the MOBO on the screws inside the case, so when i pressed the power button nothing happend, no fan turning nothing, i removed GPU put mobo out of case, powered on, nothing, the pc was dead

i concluded that i must have fried the mobo, so i bought a new mobo, yesterday i had only basics connected again and i was working on a piece of cardboard, when i pressed the power button nothing happend, as if the pc is totaly dead, my conclusion the cpu also got friend whit my old mobo

my old pc specs:
GA-990-XA UD3
FX 8350 4GHZ
radeon 7850 HD
CX600M
2x4 gb corsair vengence ram

my new mobo:
GA-78LMT-USB3

what i did to test everything:
i tested my PSU on 2 old pcs, and they both worked fine, i attached the case power cable to one of 2 working pcs, and it does work, i tried whit 1 ram stick in diffrent ram slots on new mobo, i tried powering whitout any cpu insterted into mobo and its still completely dead

i did add a keyboard to my old mobo to see if the lights on keyboard would turn on, on the old mobo they dont turn on, on the new mobo they do turn on, so my final conclusion, the cpu is dead

when i tested my old components on the new motherboard, the pc, just like whit the old mobo, would not even start, meaning i press power button, and there is no fans spinning, no signs of life, i ruled out bad psu becouse i had 2 pcs aprox 10 years old, and they both worked normaly whit the psu, could it be possible that the psu is still faulty, and the old pcs just didnt recognize it as faulty ?

a quick update, it does seem that when i fried my mobo ( no sound or smell was heard when frieing was happening), it has killed my cpu (99% sure), my mobo (100%), and my gpu. today i tried my new pc whit old gpu, and it friend my monitor, when i say friend i mean its permanently black now, it still has power becouse of the light, but its only black, the gpu works normaly when intsreted into mobo, meaning i dont hear any weird beeps and the fans are spinning on it, but im not sure if i should use a faulty gpu that might kill the monitor, im using the lga 1151 mobo, so i can whitout a gpu connect to the monitor
