Slow ssd performance issue

Okay for starters I love this forum. I use it all the time and this is my first time posting because I cannot find anybody with an issue exactly retaleted to mine and I've tried everything I can think of. Almost.

So I build my PC roughly 10 months ago and love tweaking things on it to try and make it faster. Long story short I recently installed an ssd on my Lenovo work laptop and noticed in some aspects it runs faster than my raid 0 custom PC. So I started doing some benchmarks on my Kingston hyperX fury raid 0 setup and found out something isn't right. I know those arnt the fastest drives on the market but I was peaking at 350mbps read on HDtune and was dipping to 150mbps at some points. My work computer was faster on a single Samsung evo. So I backed everything up to another drive wipped my raid and tried redoing everything and testing before I threw everything back on. Still slow. Started looking into my bios and everything seemed to be right. After trying different setting in the raid controller I decided to test the ssd's solo. Was peaking at 250-275mbps read. I've checked and there is no updated firmware for these drives. From what I've seen from other people they are able to get over 500mbps read. Made sure the ssd's are active and getting full power. Still nothing. I'm going to try and update my bios and see if that helps anything. Apologize if I'm not being very informative I'm actually on my way to work but I can do my best to answer any questions about my system. Thank you in advance for an tips or suggestions.

MSI 970 gaming
AMD FX-6300 black edition
Asus Radeon R9 390 strix
2X Crucial Ballistix Elite 8GB DDR4
Kingston HyperX Fury raid 0
2tb Toshiba

Hey there, Krg_Grand.

I wish everybody was as informative as you, so don't worry about that - good job!

Basically you've done most of the troubleshooting options already. Benchmarking the drives with them being in a RAID configuration was a pretty good idea, I just have one question, were both drives peaking at 250-275MB/s?
Basically what you have left to do is the BIOS/UEFI update, which you've already mentioned. Other than that you could give those drives a try with a different computer and test them again, to see if the performance is the same. And last, but not least, you could download a diagnostic tool to test them for errors, just to make sure that they are in good condition.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how it goes...
