Which one to buy?
Is the i3 REALLY faster,by a lot(Anyone with personal experience on both)?
OR is the athlon really WEAK? (real, proper experience from real life, anyone,PLSSS?!?!?!)

From Malaysia;
Athlon costs 58 USD
i3 costs 71.(ES/Engineering sample)

Chck this video:
(Athlon 860 vs i3 6100) using Assassin Creed Syndicate.Same settings. Both produces same FPS,even compared frame by frame.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NY9iERb2VT8 (Vsync On)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3ggj3QVdng (Vsync Off)

(Assume gtx 660 n 1050 were equally fast,if not gtx 1050 be better.Athlon 860've clock is higher than 845,by 5% but Athlon 845 have better IPC,5-10% .)

SO,IS IT SAFE TO BUY THE ATHLON X4 845 OR IT'LL BE MY FUNERAL?!!!!!!

Athlon 845:
+ve =True 4 cores.Cheapest,Claimed to be DX 12 optimised. 1st hand.
-ve =Hated by many, including, mostly, Intel fans.
Numerous benchmarks and game plays makes me hate it but at times, it seems to perform real good.
It varies.

i3-6100:
+ve =Have better reputation(on internet).Popular.
Runs Cooler.
-ve = Still doubt the internet, the seemingly-made-up synthetic and gaming benchmarks.

Pls , dont ask me to save and buy, i cant bother any less.Just need best bang for buck.
And better future proof to play low end games.
Gaming is my highest priority. Everything else,i dont care.

The Athlon X4-845 is a nice chip. It has a passmark number of 5491 and a single thread rating of 1773.
It does not have 4 true cores; it has two modules that share some resources among 4 threads.

The i3-6100 and a similar passmark number of 5500, but a better single thread rating of 2102.
Most games depend on a strong single master thread.
Hyperthreading also gives it 4 threads but the implementation is different.

Athlon needs a FM2+ motherboard which is a dead end. There are no cpu upgrades of consequence available.
You will be stuck with it forever.
The i3-6100 uses a lga1151 motherboard.
Any of which can support a i5 or I7.
If you might in the future want to upgrade to an over4clockable K processor, you will need to spend a bit more up front for a Z170 based motherboard.
Otherwise an inexpensive H110 motherboard is fine.

You may need to spend extra for an aftermarket cooler for the Athlon.
For the i3-6100, the stock cooler will do the job.

As to benchmarks, here is a review from anandtech with several games and differing discrete graphics cards.
http://www.anandtech.com/show/10543/the-skylake-core-i3-51w-cpu-review-i3-6320-6300-6100-tested

My take is if you have the budget for a i3-6100, spend more and buy it.
If you do not, you will forever be wondering if you should have.

1)But why?simply saying " without doubt the i3",without reason?I know its tempting, a lot , but baseless recommendation and do you have like REAL experience??
I see many benchmark Intel i3s out performing AMD but also sometimes i5. I still remember , few years ago, where you can max out games with phenom 965, but today , with SAME games being tested, i3 is fast BUT the phenom is showing unbelievably low performance compared to what they did few years ago.
So, are those genuine?!!!
There are lots of such incidents, especially comparing the AMD Fx cpu with i5 and i3 of same generation, where both i3 and i5 outperforms AMD Fx by same amount in same games and settings(i know its hard to categorise but did A LOT of homework, lol) ,BUT when those i5 and i3 were compared , the DIFFERENCES is BIGGER than that.
HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?I mean under same settings, same games, small margin of errors and all.

2)ES sample is bad?Cause i had an E6850,5 years of gaming torture, still scoring same in benchmarks and perform the same.
Or should i worry?
Cause this is a lot more new generation. You know anything abt it?

1.Hey dude, thanks for ur reply. You are the only that mentioned abt passmark score.
Now,845 seems really nice for the price. It have same score as i3(within lil margin of error i guess).Well, you are saying it's not a true quad core, but, in the end, doesn't it deliver the same kind of performance, affectively?
I mean, like an i3 6100 vs a q6600.

2.MAIN PART:In the passmark cpu test,there are many sub-tests.
The athlon scores significantly better in Integer maths, Multimedia Performance(seems glitchy) andcompression test.
Intel i3 performs signfificantly better on prime numbers, encryption, single thread and physics.
Both perform abt the same on floating point maths and sorting test.

Check this: http://imgur.com/a/8BPd2

So, WHICH SHOULD BE BETTER FOR GAMING?(should i create a new thread for this?)
Also,I cant think of any game that run on single core these days. And performance change when multithreads and more core is used. But this makes sense still :"Most games depend on a strong single master thread.".
But, games nowdays were using more core, so won't WEAKER 4 cores do the same job?

3.It ok, i wont upgrade.Willing to loose that.As long as i can game and its cheap and its computer ,im ok i guess.
I highly doubt if pc gaming industry is going to be strong next few years.
In the end, future proofing does waste money, saying by experience.By the time i can afford used i5 or i7, there will be cheaper(or slightly expensive) new cpu(like i3) that outperforms almost the same and have new efficient tech that make i7 and i5 to cry, much like i7 9xx and their boards. Its all numbers in you pocket, right?
Wont wrry abt cooler, it's 65 watt and i already have Hyper 212 Evo.

4."ttp://www.anandtech.com/show/10543/the-skylake-core-i3...". I AM REALLY SORRY, but, i hope u understand, i still doubt the reliability of the source.Im not saying Intel could be paying those guys,But its just my experince since the days of LGA775. Things were different in real life compared to their interpretation .Trust me, i know what im saying.
Its like you search the affect of fapping, 100% of search result, with some doctors evidence and reports, they will say it is significantly good for health.Like should do it every day. The internet is that F***ed up.

5.BUT STILL , i hope to know what's your take after this. Cause the same internet said the truth abt i7 hyperthreading vs highly clocked i5 gaming performance, or does it?
I mean could go on with the i3, but u knw, is it RIGHT OR WORTHY?

6.OR SHOULD I BUY THE i5(3330,3470,3570) .Not cheap ,for me, but compared to i3 6100, is it more worthy.
Cause im looking at Rx 460 and gtx 1050 at same price in my country.
If i buy the i5 , it will be bit tougher.I may have to buy smaller monitor or hdd wth less space i guess(taliking abt whole setup )

Btw you can't legally own an engineering sample. They belong to Intel. Intel lends these out for testing but are suppose to be returned or destroyed by contract. They are not suppose to be sold or given away. So by having one without Intels permission you are in possesion of stolen goods.

I thought im just going to be like pawpsicle hustler from zootopia movie., but not a criminal.
Need to look for other i3s i guess.
