Hello!
I just upgraded my ram to 32GB from 16GB.
I added 2X 8G and when I booted windows only recognise 8gig.
Wow I lost 8 gig by adding 16.
I don't get it.
I followed my mobo manual as how to place them.
Whats wrong?

Solution
Let's start, with a precept of DRAM, there are no guarantees when mixing packages of DRAM, mixing packages is a crapshoot, even if the same exact model. The DRAM that goes into a package has been both tested and confirmed to play nice together, further, the programming of the sticks is for the individual sets, what you see on a package of ADRAM is simply the base timings, the programming includes numerous other timings, i.e. the Trfc timings rise the more number of sticks used.

With all that said, I would try resetting the CMOS, and start with just the 2 newer sticks to ensure both are good, if all boots and the system sees all the DRAM, go into BIOS raise the DRAM voltage + 0.06 and the VCCSA voltage about the same, save, exit shut...

windows info : 8Gig
Nvidia experience : 8 gig
Bios : 8 gig
I mean, I really have 8 gig only now, with 4X8GB lol
Why it downgraded to 8 from 16 wow im amazed I really don't know what do to.

i would check your motherboard Manuel to see if they have any information on what kind of combinations of ram can be used. i also would try out the 2 16GB kits separably to make sure they are working properly

anyway one is faulty for sure, because I switch position and definitely see that one ram is dead. I am at 24GB now. one is faulty :*(

i would check to see if you can get it replaced under warranty

Thank you for your time, explanation and everything.
I am now operating at 32GB!!!
I did not raise de DRAM and VCCA volt, but I just installed the new sticks and rebooted like 10 times, trying different Dimms and finally it worked with magic.
It finally recognise both new sticks. Weird... just by changing dimm and rebooting with the new sticks. I then added the old sticks and it worked perfectly. 32GB!!!!!! thx a lot man!
