Hi there,
I just built a PC for a friend using some spare parts that I had but am having a problem. After about 20-30 min of playing games on high/ultra settings, the PC will freeze and become unresponsive forcing me to force shutdown the PC using the power button. If we put the settings on low or medium, the PC doesn't crash/freeze at all even after several hours of gaming.
Here is a list of my PC parts:
CPU: i5 2300
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 670 OC (Factory OC)
PSU: 650w Thermaltake LitePower Gen 2 (New)
MOBO: IPISB-CU (From an older HP computer)
Ram: Patriot 2 x 4gb 1333mhz (New)
HDD: 2tb WD (New)
OS: W7 Ultimate
My idle temp is about 30 degrees and goes up to 70 degrees when playing Overwatch on ultra. I have also ran memtest86, intel processor diagnostic and Prime95 with no problems. I have been told by some friends that my PSU might be lacking and that I need a better one but I simply just bought the one the guys at MSY recommended for my PC.
I am stumped at what the problem could be and would greatly appreciate someone's help. I have tried other peoples solution for this problems but their problem was generally identified by their stress testing program with nothing showing up for me.
Thanks
