So there's an optimum wifi hotspot near me and my phone connects just fine, as does my macbook, but when I try to connect on my pc it just kind of connects but won't have any internet access. I'm using a wifi adapter that's only for 2.4ghz 802.11n, could it be that the hotspot is 5ghz or maybe a/b/g? I've tried to google details about the hotspots but I can't find any information. Any ideas? Thanks.

Are lyou able to check wifi settings on your macbook or phone? See how they are configured.

What make and model wifi adapter do you have on your PC. Is it built in, USB, or PCI-x? Try using a USB extension cable or an antenna extension cable if at all possible.
