Hi there all.
At the moment i can get 20 percent off a graphics card at a well known online retailer. Ive been watching prices not moving of late, and i wonder if this is going to be the best offer i get for some time, or do i wait for januaryu amd launches to move prices?

the choices are

going into asrock ws-e mb

I would greatly appreciate opinions on holding fire or which would be the best to aim foR!

Not sure if you're committed to MSI, however I'd get the Asus Strix myself.

I've got the EVGA FTW but on low RPM a fan makes the occasional "scraping" sound though I solved that completely by setting a custom fan profile (can't hear the fan on low anyway). I've heard excellent things about the Strix.

I would NOT go with a liquid cooler. It could make a slightly more stable overclock but the pump and fan will always be on. Pumps can be annoying. It's hard to explain as the noise dB may not be high but still annoying.

I don't know if you have a WINDOW on your case, but if so the red MSI limits you to what will match. The Asus Strix has LED on the side and the backplate which can change to any color.

Guys as usual gr8 discussion and help.
OK point accepted on seahawk meaning always noise on, i did read that most of these 1070 cards will not even use their fans until necesssary.
Ive ruled out EVGA following heat pad thing ( GOTTA USE SOME CRITERIA TO THIN AFTER ALL).
I watched an o/clckers vid on the strix but cam away a little confused about the power and temp profiles being very conservatively set out of the factory? any clarification about that possible?
Finally, i assume from your answers that these prices will be hard to beat for some time?
Last point is that budget is good atm and im thinking of splurging on two cards. ( i saw a game called witcher and elite at my nephews house at te weekend and see how appealing new gaming is now) Is SLI better than 980 experiences of the past? initial research suggests that it seems so..

ha! just checking thats the cheapest MSI gaming x and came across this.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aag/main?ie=UTF8&asin=&isAmazonFulfilled=&isCBA=&marketplaceID=A1F83G8C2ARO7P&orderID=&protocol=current&seller=AVNZAYLP4RFAB&sshmPath=

247 quid for the card, seller just launched, another scam same as one pointed out on my other recent gpu search enquiry thread.
cant amazon write an algo that spots combinations of factors, ie new seller and commodityu price well outdies the mean price overall? cnat be that hard and would protect the unwary!
