Hi!

I was about to order a Corsair H75, until i noticed that a high end aero cooler is much better. I wanted to go for Noctua NH-D14 but i have all my mobo RAM slots full with Corsair Vengeance which they are tall. i saw that Noctua's clearance gap unter the sooler for the ram is 44mm and the VEngeance is 52.5mm tall.

What cooler would you recommend for me? my case can take a cooler up to 162mm tall

Great cooler, however the ONLY issue I can find is that it's not quiet in idle. The Noctua is. Silent. Dead silent if your fan software is configured properly (i.e. 20% until about 40 to 50degC depending on preferences then ramp up).

*Only had the cheaper Noctua NH-U12S for the above review, but under heavy load it was only about 3degC hotter so the Noctua NH-U15S should match the Cryorig close enough (either beat it or lose) by so little as to not really matter.

**So I recommend the Noctua, unless the aesthetics or price come into play because it is QUIETER.

(My PSU fan is off. My graphics cards fans are either off, or very quiet. My case fans are tweaked to be almost...
Noctua NH-D15S.

Clearance is 165mm, though it can increase since you can raise the fan.

It's got great reviews as well.

*The above Cryorig is probably similar, so compare price and performance. It can be DIFFICULT to compare coolers though since often they aren't run at the same NOISE LEVEL which is what I deem most useful. You may have to extrapolate results, or just take a reviewers conclusion.

Other:
Adding a 3rd fan seems a bit stupid to me to gain like 2degC more cooling. Heck, on my Noctua NH-D14 I removed one fan and used it as a case fan because it was total OVERKILL for my i7-3770K@4.4GHz. I rarely go above 70degC in heavy load (20degC ambient).

***NOTE that the temperature results with Prime95 don't indicate gaming or even most well threaded video conversion applications. Most of the top-end air coolers are good with a modern CPU. If you had an FX-8350 or similar AMD processor I'd be going with liquid cooling possibly though.
