Hi , my pc restarts when playing game and sometimes when browsing !!
i tried everything but i failed
the only thing i did'nt try is to update the bios ! i have gigabyte H81DS2 my bios version is F2 do i need to upgrade to F7 version ?

specs
gtx 960 4gb
i3 4160
1tb hdd
450 corsair power supply

Solution

a) solve these after BIOS update w/ MoBo / COU mismatch
b) Run a standard multi-tasking stress utility such as RoG Real Bench to test CPU
http://dlcdnmkt.asus.com/rog/RealBench_v2.44.zip
c) Wait till see if any error codes reveal a memory issue
d) turn off auto restart...

Hell yah give that a shot.
Or its the PSU thats the problem.

Though I wouldn't update the BIOS till you know for sure its stable in BIOS.
Leave it up awhile in BIOS to see if it restarts in there before doing the BIOS update.

Question from ramy45 : "afraid to update bios"

Other than a power outage i don't see a possibility of this. That being said, 1) I doubt the BIOS is the reason for the crashes and 2) what steps have you taken to determine the cause of the crashes ?

a) examined event viewer ?
b) checked CPU temps / voltages ?
c) run memtest86+
d) searched the web for STOP error code meanings on blue screen ?

Since a BIOS update is required, there's no reason not to go with the latest stable version, (F7).

a- yeah there are many errors at event viewer like kernel power 41 and some error saying (Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0) and -- DistributedCOM error id 10016
b-cpu temps are good i tested them on many games always on 60 - i did'nt check v oltages ( i dont know anything about them )
c-i did'nt run memtest86 but ok i will do it
d- i dont get even a blue screen :( it restarts directly without any errors

You're running version F2 of the motherboard BIOS.
The processor you're running requires version F5 of the motherboard BIOS.
I am 99.99% sure this is the issue.

Update your BIOS and afterwards, you are still running into issues, then you can start looking into other test scenarios.
