How to make my PC silent

Solution
The good news is that your GPU is a relative quiet card (http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1050-ti,4787-7.html). So, that leaves the case and fans. Two case manufacturers to look at are the CoolerMaster Silencio series and the Corsair Silent Series. All of these have additional damping and air flow paths to help reduce noise. A lot of people swear by Noctua fans for low/no noise.

One more silly question. I'm assuming that you have your CPU cooler and case fans connected to your mobo to control the fan speed? If you connected your fans directly to the PSU and they're always running full speed, that's going to create a lot more noise.

I personally have an i5-6500 rig using the CoolerMaster Silencio 352 (matx), stock...

none of the components are of less quality , some people dont even care about acoustics , it just depends on the user , if you it to be more silent you gotta give more into it ,

He meant replacing the fan on the 212, not the whole cooler. Anytime you move air, you are going to make noise. Some fans just do a better job of moving the air than others. As far as the case goes, any obstacles in the path of the airflow will create turbulence . Turbulence will create noise. Look for a case with a better airflow.

It's a lot easier to build a PC from the ground up to be quiet and some cases are much much better than others, and have damping for sound etc.

I spent a lot of time researching and attempting to quieten an old coolermaster case I had in the early 2000's, failed miserably, brought an antec P180, massive difference, i've now moved onto a fractal R4, only a bit quieter but easier to work work.

What case would you recommend?

the last case I bought was an Antec 900. Haven't really looked at the newer cases, so don't really have an opinion.

Sorry!

I personally have an i5-6500 rig using the CoolerMaster Silencio 352 (matx), stock case and CPU fans and no GPU. It's located on my desk approx 2.5 feet away. The only time I hear any noise is when the case fans spin up at power up or coming out of sleep mode. After that, it's silent.
