Hey everyone,

I have just bought components to build a computer. I installed the computer as the manual describes, but when I press the power button it sometimes does boot up and sometimes it doesn’t. How is this possible?

All fans spins for a moment and the EZ Debug LED CPU led indicator lights up and then the pc shuts down. After doing this three times, it boots up normally but doesn’t feel right. I’ve searched the web, but couldn’t find my problem. I already tried the following things:
• Resetting the BIOS by removing the CMOS battery;
• Boot up with both RAM separately, in every DIMM slot;
• Only (re)connected the 24pin for MoBo and 8pin for CPU.

I have a feeling that it’s a problem with the CPU or PSU.

The specs of my computer:
MSI Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon
Intel Core i5-6600K LGA1151
o Scythe Fuma
MSI GeForce GTX 160 Gaming X 6GB
Crucial Ballistix Sport LT DDR4 16 GB (2x8GB)
Corsair RM 550x
250GB Samsung 750 Evo 2.5”
2000GB Seagate Desktop HDD
Fractal Design Define R4 Black

Does someone know or have any clue what the problem is?

Thanks in advance.

I have found something new. I have to push the powerbutton for like 2 seconds and then release it. If I do this quicker or longer it won't boot. When I push the power button, the EZ Debug LED indicator flashes two times and then I have to release it. That is the only way it will boot. Does someone know what this is and how to fix it?

Thanks scout for your reply. I have checked the BIOS settings. Tried somethings, but no result. I did found out that if I changed the AC Power Loss setting to "Power up" and shut down the computer from Windows the computer boots up normally. Also restarting from Windows the same thing happens. So only when the computer is off and I try starting the PC with a normal push on the button it won't turn on.

To be more clear, I made two videos. The first is the failure and the second is the video when I hold the power button. (clicking noise is me pushing the powerbutton)

I've disconnected the case connectors and tried to turn on the PC by connecting the pins with a screwdriver, yet the same problem.

I'm sending back the powersupply and motherboard to the shop I bought it.
