We have a Doublesight DS-10u 10" monitor at our school hooked up to an old netbook running XP. We use the combo with a scanner to check in students to class using an online check-in app.. It works ok but is slow and we are having issues with XP so I was hoping to upgrade to an intel compute stick. do you know a way to make this possible to still use the same monitor? or any other "small factor puter setup recommendation. thanks.

Honestly a compute stick is not the way I would approach this. They're very limited in what they are capable of. I know you are on a budget but if you're considering a device like that it would be better to get a low cost NUC like this:
