I'm just curious if anyone can tell me if my mobo is compatible with a graphics card I am looking at purchasing. My mobo is a msi 760gm-p34 fx, and the card I'm considering is a geforce gtx 1050 ti sc 4gb gddr5, i believe it is a Oviedo-3, I think it is compatible but if it is not evident I am by no means a computer guru! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes it will work 100%. A PCIE 2.0 x16 slot has the same bandwidth as a PCIE 3.0 x8 slot, which is what GPU's use when in SLI, and is plenty for pretty much any card out there, but your CPU may hold back a 1050Ti depending which model it is.

You also need to make sure you have an adequate PSU.

Sorry not sure how to reply directly but, it's my understanding that there really isn't a large difference between pcie2 and 3 like maybe just a few fps, is this accurate or am I misinformed?
