Hi guys,

So, here is my current set up...

Windows 10
Windforce GTX 970 4gb
AMD 8350 CPU
16gb Ram
LG 42UB820V (4K TV) set at 60Hz
Using HDMI 2.0 Cables
Current NVidia Drivers

Basically i've been experiencing problems with my set up, i find that when using my TV as a desktop I experience a lot of micro stuttering when watching videos with a lot of movement. And a fair amount of stutter when gaming. as well as some mouse flicker when hovering over videos.

Now...my desktop resolution is set at full 4k, though my games are set at 1080p windowed mode. The reason why I play the games in windowed mode is because for some reason, whenever I revert to fullscreen my dynamic contrast setting in the nvidia control panel will not stick, and the colors revert back to being very washed out. But when in windowed it looks vivid and nice. Though I hate only playing my games in windowed as it makes having a large 42 inch screen redundant. I've tried getting Nvidia customer support to help but they've got no idea, I've tried different graphics cards, and cables, resolutions, Hz etc but the common denominator is my TV so i assume there is something wrong with it. Though I might add playing games on bordered fullscreen allows me to carry the dynamic contrast setting, but obviously very few games have this setting.

SO essentially i'm looking at buying a proper desktop monitor now so I can play games and have a normal computer experience without all the micro stutter and inability to play games full screen. I have never actually owned a desktop monitor and have always Used TV's.

I am currently looking at this model here from Amazon

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01BV1XB2K/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

Because of the great price and widescreen. Though I am hesitant because I feel like my problems may carry over? or is the micro stutter just down to the 4k desktop resolution being too much for my rig? and the dynamic range issue just being because of my TV?

I've tried to be as descriptive as possible, and really appreciate any feedback about this issue going forward. Thanks in advance.
