Should I switch to i5 2500k from i7 3770(not K)?

My current rig is as follows:

i7 3770
Radeon R9 380X 4GB
CM Hyper 212 Evo
Gigabyte Z68 Mobo
16GB DDR3 @ 1600mhz 9-9-9-24
2x Samsung 850 Evo
1x 2TB Western Digital HDD
Corsair CX750M PSU
Corsair 400C Case with 4 fans

I have recently acquired an i5 2500k for free. I was wondering if it would be worth it to use this chip (overclocked of course) instead of the i7 3770 at stock speeds? Or will it make no difference due to the GPU?

Edit: I should have mentioned: I use this rig mainly for gaming.

If I do decide to switch the CPU, should I add a second fan to my 212 Evo for a push/pull setup?

In many new, well-threaded games (Witcher, Battlefield, that sort), even an i7 2600K is matching Skylake i5's. Going from a 3770 to 2500K would be a severe downgrade in many of the games made in the past 2-3 years.

In my opinion no, personally i went from i5 2500k to i7 3770 a while back and it gave a bit of a boost at base clock as the 3770 has a better per core performance. And i got the i7 3770 for free. Now granted i only had a 4Ghz clock on the i5 2500k.

Newer games use more cores so the i7 will prove to be a plus for some of them and it's doubtful you will see much of a difference in the rest.
