Alright so I'm finding myself in a delima. I've got a gaming rig that I built back in 2011. I5 2500k (Sandy Bridge). 16 GB of ddr3 @ 1333 ghz, Samsung ssd, and a evga gtx 970 ftw (upgraded when the 970s released). My initial thought to upgrade the motherboard, get faster ram and move to the i5 6600k skylake processor. From what I'm seeing the difference is still fairly negligible between the 2 processors for gaming but I figure this is a better future proof option for the machine all together.

Then I started thinking.... I game at 1080p but on a 65 inch 4k samsung because 4k gaming was too far out of reach. You guys think I could do the processor and maybe jump to 1440p or should I just add another 970 for sli. If I did sli could I begin to dabble in 4k gaming? Or would I be shooting myself in the foot by needing to upgrade the processor in another year or so?
