Hello everyone,

I have read many topics here the past few months while i was choosing the parts for my new computer, but this is my first time actually writing. During the whole process I have followed the rule to search for answers of my questions, rather than asking the same things over and over again. Now that I have assembled my computer, I want to arrange my fan setup for a good airflow with possitive presure since the environment is a little dusty. I know there is a lot of topics about this and I apologies for posting again. I would like to consult with you, before I do anything.

I want to use full 7 fans setup with 4 intake (with filters) and 3 exaust. I know that the benefit in temperature will not be big (if any), but I would like a good optimised fan setup with more fans, so I can run the fans (using NZXT Phantom 410 fan controller) on low for nice and quiet computer.

I have removed the top hdd rack, so I can fit gtx 1070 Asus strix (not O8G). The GPU is on the top slot if that matters. The CPU cooler is Hyper 212 evo. The MB is Asus Z170 pro gaming.

Both setups I think to use are:
1.
Intake with filter: 2x120 front, 1x120 bottom and 1x140 side
Exaust: 2x140 top and 1x120 back

2.
Intake with filters: 2x120 front, 1x120 bottom and 1x140 top
Exaust: 1x140 side, 1x140 top and 1x120 back

I preffer the first setup, because I am worried that in the second setup due to the NZXT top panel, the hot air from the exaust top fan can be sucked back in from the top intake fan.

I am worried for trapped hot air since a lot of people mention it when it comes to fan setup.

For intake I plan to use Noiseblocker BlackSilent Pro PL2. For exaust I want to keep the stock top and NZXT fans and add one more NZXT 140mm led on the top.

Sorry for the long post and the bad english. I tried to be detailed as possible.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Yes, do not use side fan setup. Those are typically only meant for direct airflow to the GPU, and it causes for the GPU to suck in a load of dust, because there's no filter. I recommend the 1st setup you talked about, but just take out the side fan, then you'll be perfect and have very positive airflow in your system. Hope this helps!

Thank you for the advice. I`ll take it and i`ll not use the side panel fan. Should i stay with only 1x140mm on the top and 1x120mm on the back of the case, since the intake fans will be filtered and the airflow there can be less than the airflow of 2x140 and 1x120 for exhaust?
