I have a Netgear N900 usb adapter for my desktop that shows networks, but when connected it has no internet. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the usb device and tried different ports but it still has no internet. I plugged in the network adapter to a laptop and verified it works fine. I am not sure why it doesnt want to connect when it is on my desktop.

Are you running different versions of Windows on the laptop and desktop? If so you may have to see if Netgear has a newer driver if you are running Windows 10 on your desktop.
