Windows 7 Install only works in safe mode

Upgraded to a new motherboard (MSI Z170A KRAIT GAMING 3X), CPU (i7 6700k), and GFX (Gigabyte GTX 1080) and now trying to install Windows 7 on my SSD (crucial Mx300 ) Unfortunately, whenever I try to boot the windows install dvd, it crashes after windows is loading files. This can be avoided by booting in safe mode, but once I try to boot the newly installed windows out of safe mode it crashes again. In safe mode I get the error "Windows cannot complete installation in safe mode"

I'm at a loss, what do I do next?

Thanks in advance!

My drive is internally connected, so unfortunately that is not the issue. I'm going to see if my windows 8 setup runs when I return home to hopefully pinpoint the issue... any other troubleshooting ideas other than that?

Just to update this thread, I bought a new PSU that (according to PCPartPicker) has been used in at least 10 other systems with specs nearly identical to mine where it matters. However, after installing it in my system the problem still occurs. I called MSI and they instructed me to slipstream my windows 7 boot device, which I am in the process of doing now. Hopefully this fixes it!
