Hello. After much discussion with my inner self, I came to a halt when choosing my smartphone. What I selected, based of my city's vendor (with a smartphone, I can't really use amazon, since returning it would be a problem for me) are the J2 Prime and the Y5 II...what can you say about both of them? What's better?

PS: Asking mostly for advice from persons that use any of them or who reviewed them....is this the right sub-forum? :)

I'd recommend the J2 Prime.

That extra 512 megs of ram will definitely be nice in future proofing the device a bit, and it has Marshmellow vs Lollipop on the Y5 if you care about that.

The only downside is the screen is a funky 540x960 vs the 1280x720 on the Y5. I cannot speak as to whether you would like that, but for the ram alone I think it's worth it. 2 gigs of ram on my ZMAX 2 vs 1 on my old Moto E makes a world of difference.

The J2 also has OTG if you at all ever need/want that in a phone.
