Hi there! I plan on extending my 8 GB of Ram with another one of the same size. The label on the RAM says it is a CMK8GX4M1A2400C16. My question now: Does it have to be the exact same RAM i am adding?
or can it be any RAM that my Motherboard supports?
Thanks, Mo

you do not HAVE to get the same ram, but i would. you could run into some compatibility problems if you use other ram. if you use a similar corsair ram that has at least the same cas and speed rating you would probably be ok. but from what i see the cheapest 8gb stick of ddr4 2400 is $40(some random avexir brand) and the CMK8GX4M1A2400C16 is available for $50-55. there really isn't any reason not to just get the same stick.
