I went to install a new blu ray drive, I had to remove my ram to get the old dvd one and and put the new one in. I reconnected the cables for the disk drive, put the 4 ram slots back in. But when I turned on the PC nothing shows on display. All my fans spin the lights on the mouse show the HDD sounds like it was running and even the disk drive made noises. So I took two of my old rams out (thought maybe they were the problem) and turned it back on and got one long beep and two short beeps. Is the motherboard gone or is it something else.

Solution

normally ram pairs are sim1 and 3 and sim 2 and 4
so in your case, Hyperx in 1, Samsung in 2, Hyperx in 3, Samsung in 4

what motherboard do you have ?
