Throughput affected by mixed Powerline Adapters?

I've got 3 Trendnet TPL-406e (500mpbs) and 2 TPL-308E (200mpbs) in my home. They all work together, but throughput isn't as high as expected.

In addition to the various conditions that will affect powerline adapters, will the slower adapters have any affect on the faster ones? A 406e is connected to the router.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks. A slow one is inside a solar inverter panel which isn't easy to get to, that's why I'm asking here. What I was able to do was try a slow one and a fast one in the same outlet. The slow was 11mbps, the fast was 17mbps, both well below a quarter of their rated speeds (WAG at a rate that should be doable).

Also, I'm interested in hearing the theory of operation answer, if anyone knows it.
