RAM failure or something else?

Today I assembled my new PC and gave it a test boot. To my horror, I found myself unable to boot into the BIOs (I was faced with a "cable not connected" error"). Suspecting it might be the RAM, I removed one of them and what happened? I could boot and was able to enter the BIOs.

I did further testing and tried the suspected faulty RAM in every slot. I attempted to boot and looked at the debug code. The PC would remain powered on for a while and it'd cycle between numbers, eventually landing on code "00" after which it turned off and turned on again, repeating the cycle.

RAM in question is Corsair Vengenance LPX 16GB 3000MHz and the Motherboard is Asrock Extreme4 Z170.

Before I contact Corsair, am I right to assume that the specific RAM stick is causing the code 00 errors? My manual says code 00 points to a CPU issue. However, I can boot fine with the working RAM.

Everything is connected as instructed by the Motherboard manual.

I put the working memory stick in (any of the slots) and I can get into the BIOs.

I put the other stick in (to attempt dual-channel) and boot fails.

I then take out the known working memory and try the suspected bad RAM in each of the slots, no display is detected. Basically, boot failure.
