It is a Toshiba Satellite Ultrabook with Windows 10 E45T-A4300. The M.2 is a THNSNX032GTNT
The other HD is a WD7500BPVX

No it was there. The original Hd crashed and need to be replaced. In my quest to discover why the computer was not booting sometimes and failing to install updates. I deleted all partitions on both the SSD and HDD. Now my HDDwill be here Monday so I can do a clean install of the whole system. Hopefully this will also fix why the SSD only reports as 11gig instead of 32gig.

You will need to format the ssd and leave it as unallocated space as otherwise the Intel program won't use it. I think hdd and ssd both need to be set as raid as well but they may be already

The extra space might be used space but I don't fully understand how the intel program works as I can't run it on my PC, the feature not supported by my board, they removed it.

this might help: https://forum.toshiba.eu/showthread.php?72662-Satellite-U840W-C9S-Windows-8-installation-and-effective-SSD-usage

That "32GB SSD" in the laptop is/was originally meant as a cache drive, not a standalone 32GB for theOS>

And 32GB is really WAY too small. Yes, it will install, just barely. But you would be severely limited with the OS on that drive.

Been there, done that.
It is too small for actual use.

What will fail?
The next large Windows Update. I have a Asus Transformer with a 32GB eMMC drive. Basically, only the OS (Win 10 Home) and a couple of small utilities.

The August Anniversary release would not install, simply because there was not enough free space on the drive.

I strongly urge you not to install it like that.

I don't think I am formatting the SSD correctly, I can only get it set up as ready boost. which is bugging me because I keep getting popups saying the D drive is full.

i always thought it was just used for USB but it seems it can be used for drives as well: https://www.winhelp.us/use-readyboost-in-windows-vista-and-7.html

http://superuser.com/questions/93538/how-can-i-use-my-ssd-as-a-readyboost-cache-disk seems its a similar idea

it still exists in win 10 but most instructions are for 7 as most win 10 PC have bigger ssd in them than 32gb: http://www.dragonblogger.com/configuring-windows-7-readyboost-ssd-drive/

trying to work out how to empty ssd. Does it show in file explorer?

Curious if running dban on ssd (remove hdd from laptop, don't want any accidents) would give you the full capacity - download the free version: http://www.dban.org/ - it creates a bootable USB so don't need windows, it will wipe entire ssd.

is win 10 on hdd? Can you show us a screen shot of disk management as I am curious what drive looks like
