Problem with GT710

Hello guys, I have an old pc way back in 2007 that im still using today, it has a 8500 gt video card, today I decided to replace it with Palit GT710(Maybe PCIE x4 or x8) but my motherboard is ASUS P5VD2-VM SE , So it only has x16 slot and x1, when I inserted the GT710, no display on monitor. (I inserted the GT710 on the x16 slot but only half of the slot is fitted in it.)
