Hello, im looking for a good budget GPU for my PC, i found a cheap RX 480 4GB (which i believe should be good for 768p/1080p gaming) on newegg, its power color red dragon RX 480 4gb, it has dual fan, 6-pin power connector, has backplate and runs at reference clocks.
i looked for reviews on it most of the reviews were good, some said it has 6-pin power connector so its limited in OCing, and some said it runs too hot, and some videos on youtube, PCB break down to be specific said it has a shit PCB, how true is this? please note that i will not be OCing, i will use the card as it is out of the box, i will not touch the voltage or frequency, will only touch fan speed.
What are your opinions and thoughts on this card?

the nitro is fine mate, the armour cools better though without a doubt.
You get the fancy led's & removeable fans on the nitro whereas the msi card is a bit plain.

I think if you have a windowed case & aesthetics are important to you then the nitro would be first choice.
If youre not bothered about the looks then I think the MSI is probably the slightly better card personally.

is 6-pin power connector an issue? is there a risk of PCIE slot or psu will blow up? or the card itself?

Hello.
The card itself should work great at the resolutions you plan to run, so the choice of card itself is no issue.
With regards of the 6-pin power, the 480 seems to use up to 160watts of power. With the 75watts from the motherboard, the 6pin will power it just fine. The calbe is rated to 75watts, but they can handle much more. Overclocking with a higher voltage will draw more power but there shouldn't be any risk of overheating cables (I haven't had any issues and I have OCed my GTX660s a long way e.g. more than 160w maximum power draw).
As with the 'shit PCB', googling shows that powercolour do go for cheap components. As long as the card comes with a warranty and you do not overclock, I think you will have no issues, and the warranty is a failsafe. However, if you plan on using it for a long amount of time before an upgrade, I would look around for a slightly more expensive model that has higher quality components.

This is a great point. MSI is well trusted and from what I have seen, their parts are usually of a good quality. For $10 more, it seems like a good idea to get that instead.
